There once was a Roman fort near to the Bridge.
Public moorings are available here and at the Wayford Bridge Hotel. The bridge is low and should be aproached with care. There are boatyards on both sides of the river.
The river forks just South of here to Stalham and Sutton. If you can get under the Bridge then the river continues North to the village of Dilham. In an emergency there is a petrol station in Wayford quite a walk away.
